Highlights of the Proposed Design

The Road

  • 11 foot travel lanes
  • 3 1/2 foot shoulders
  • 6-inch barrier curbs and gutter
  • Posted speed limit 30 mph  except at the 72nd/Spruce corner which will be posted at 15 mph
  • Continuous lighting along the roads
  • Piped storm drain systems

Pedestrian Facilities

  • An 8-foot wide asphalt trail on the north side of 72nd Avenue, the east side of Spruce Street, and the north side of Lore Road.
  • A 5-foot wide concrete sidewalk on opposite sides of the asphalt trail
  • A minimum 4-foot grass buffer between the curb and pedestrian facilities to separate pedestrians from vehicles
  • An 8-foot wide asphalt trail along the undeveloped portion of 72nd Avenue right-of-way east of Spruce Street

Traffic Calming

Chokers are proposed at the intersections of:

  • 72nd Avenue and Genny Circle
  • 72nd Avenue and Cantonment Court
  • 72nd Avenue and Bullen Drive
  • Spruce Street and Lore Road
  • Lore Road and Randamar Circle
  • Lore Road and Winchester Street
  • Landscaped center median east of Candy Wine Circle

A landscaped center median is also proposed on Lore Road, east of Candywine Circle.

 

 

 

Landscaping

Landscaping will include new plantings in areas where sufficient public right-of-way exists.
